STEM Colour Changing Flower Experiment

This STEM activity demonstrated how colors spread through a tissue flower when water is added. We created tissue paper flowers and then placed them in water mixed with food coloring. As the water traveled through the tissue paper, the colors slowly spread through the petals.

This experiment helps children understand basic science concepts such as absorption and color mixing. It also encourages observation and curiosity as children watch the changes happen over time. Activities like this support inquiry-based learning, where children explore scientific ideas through hands-on experiences. As an educator, I would use similar experiments to encourage children to ask questions, make predictions, and observe results.
